Healthy Homes Assessment

What makes a healthy home?

It’s a question our New Zealand government asked themselves over the last few years.  The conclusion was that our New Zealand homes simply aren’t good enough. In response, they outlined the Healthy Homes Standards; a set of minimum requirements rentals need to meet.

From 1st July 2021, landlords must ensure that all rentals comply with the Standards within 90 days of any new or renewed tenancy. Failing to comply can result in a painful $4,000 penalty. I think we all agree that that’s not where we want to go.

But don’t despair!

Total House can conduct a thorough Healthy Homes assessment to identify any work that needs doing for your rental to get the stamp of approval. One of our professionals will come to your home and assess how warm, dry, and healthy it is. After that, we are happy to help you sort out those requirements quickly and efficiently.
